AgCredit of South Texas is part of the Farm Credit System, which is a nationwide network of lending cooperatives established in 1917 to provide farmers and ranchers with a reliable source of financing. We are owned by our customers and supervised by a board of directors, who are farmers, ranchers and rural landowners themselves. The co-op is staffed by professional agricultural lending specialists, who have rural backgrounds and experience in South Texas agriculture. Like members of any co-op, our customers each have a vote and a voice in the business of the organization. |

| Unlike commercial banks, which primarily raise funds through federally insured deposits, the Farm Credit System raises money by offering debt securities in the nation's capital markets. It then loans that money to rural America. As part of this system, AgCredit of South Texas is well positioned to dependably serve South Texas agriculture in the 21st century. | ||
